Martine's RiverHouse is a gay-friendly restaurant in New Hope, Pennsylvania, a long-running LGBTQ+ destination.
It’s in a tiny former river tollbooth, perched right on the Delaware. You’re practically in the water, which is the main draw here. The menu focuses on New American food, but it’s short—they don't try to do too much.
New Hope has been a magnet for LGBTQ+ travelers for decades. The town’s full of places to eat and drink. Martine's sits at the more stylish end of the spectrum, a good pick if you want a slightly fancier meal with that river view.
This historic spot makes sense for a special occasion, or just a slow dinner when you’re in the area. It’s the kind of place you’d pick for a date or a small group of friends. Check their website for hours and reservations: martinesriverhouserestaurant.com.

Absolutely terrible experience for new hope! No one didn’t come to get the order from us and we were sitting there over an hour. And after that they took the order, took another hour that they bring our food. I ordered Cesar salad which was out of dressing and when I asked the waitress for extra, she wan’t happy about it. No one was smiling and only bar tender had to come over to see what we are doing! They forced us to pay %20 tip which for that service and food I would never ever pay to that horrible service. And I have to say that restaurant wasn’t busy at Allll. Sunday night and we were 8 people. I do not recommend them at all. The only reason that we stayed because of my friends.
Food was delicious. Great service. And beautiful view of the Delaware River while eating can't be beat.
Friendly staff, amazing location, bring friends!
Awesome restaurant! Food was spot on , sangria was also spot on and Barb, our waitress rocks! We had the chicken, skirt steak, tuna and salmon. Chocolate mousse with homemade whipped cream. DELICIOUS! Highly recommend. Eat on the patio with the Riverview if you can, we went in June ,it was perfect!
What a fabulous find! Set on the Deleware River, in a historic 1750's building, with outdoor seating on the river. We chose to sit at their amazing warm and cozy bar. We stopped here for cocktails and appetizers and would absolutely make the trip back for dinner. We had their chicken liver pate, shishito peppers, their muscles in a coconut cream sauce and added an order of deviled eggs (not pictured) because we heard so much about them. Every bit of their food was fresh, well seasoned and just divine. If you like martinis, they have blue cheese stuffed olives (OMG), so good. The best part of the afternoon was our amazing Barkeep and Mixologist Christian. He was attentive, excellent at his craft and just elevated our experience. (Thank you Christian and staff for a great afternoon!) Even the locals also sitting at the bar were amazing company. So if you are in the New Hope area, I highly recommend this little gem hidden in the back corner off the main road and surrounded by a couple of restaurants. It's worth your time! Enjoy!!
In town for the weekend, beautiful restaurant on the river but just a disappointment all around. Wait staff was kind, but we just felt forgotten about. We sat down around 1:20, took a bit to get our waters & took a bit to get our appetizer in. We ordered the Deviled Eggs and came out around 1:40, but they didn’t take our food order until 10 mins after we finished the 3 eggs you get! Food came out, my boyfriend’s burger was a basic burger you feel like you could get at Applebees. I ordered the turkey sandwich which looked delicious but it was just like cold cuts, sandwich was toasted and warm but felt like there was no flavor with the cold turkey! The best bite from my order was when it was just the bread, chipotle sauce and no meat. We sat in a little corner and just felt like it took forever to get waited on & our check. I think we got out of the restaurant around 2:30 which maybe is a normal amount of time but in reality it felt like it took so long to order anything which made the time feel like a waste of our day. Idk, I just don’t recommend, the training waitress was very kind though!
Foods mid overpriced took 30 min for anyone to take my order
