About this place LOFT LGBT Community Services Center

The LOFT is a nonprofit LGBTQ+ community centre at 252 Bryant Avenue in White Plains. It serves Westchester and the rest of the Lower Hudson Valley through advocacy, education, support groups and social programmes for LGBTQ+ people of different ages. It also runs the area's Pride events. The centre is open weekdays from 10:00 to 18:00 and closed at weekends, though some groups meet in the evening. For a visitor, it's the place to ask about local resources, meet-ups or health services north of New York City, where gay bars are few and far between.

I am a therapist who reached out to The Loft to offer possible collaboration and received an enthusiastic email response from Darby. We set up a virtual meeting, and not only did Darby not show up for it, but she did not respond to any of my follow-up emails asking what had happened, including one asking if she was OK. In my career, I honestly have never had a professional not only not show up for a meeting, but also not respond to any inquiries about it. I still do not know if this person is OK, but based on this unprofessional and frankly bizarre experience, I would look for support elsewhere. UPDATE: No one ever contacted me from the center.
