About this place Pocket Bar NYC

Pocket Bar is a small, queer-owned neighbourhood spot tucked into West 48th Street, a few steps off the main Hell's Kitchen strip. True to the name it is compact — a narrow, candle-lit room that fills quickly with locals rather than a tourist crush. The draw is the easy, low-key atmosphere: strong drinks, a friendly bartender who remembers your order, and a back garden when the weather allows. It's the kind of place regulars treat as a second home away from the louder bars on Ninth and Tenth Avenues.

We absolutely adore this tiny bar in Hell's Kitchen. It possesses all of the elements that we love: fab music, friendly patrons, a chill vibe, lots of seats around the bar, dim lighting & an absolutely fantastic bartender. Since this place is so small the bartender is required to be the bouncer, card ID'er, bar back, dishwasher & drink pourer. And no one does this better than Orlea. She has absolutely perfected customer service. She knows how to interact with a customer. She knows how to play terrific music. She knows how to wash glasses quickly (hopefully there is space for a glass washing machine some day). Starting your night ? Ending your night ? We did both & totally enjoyed ourselves.

Excellent Place for Drinks in a small local bar that was friendly and made you feel welcome. Bartender was friendly and engaging as were the local patrons. I will definitely return here.

This venue is all about the girl behind the bar. Very small (fits around 20-30ppl max) but the drinks are great and the barmaid's energy was infectious. Definitely worth stopping by for a few drinks!

We spent a couple of hours in this bijou, friendly and entertaining bar. Great drinks, complimentary popcorn and the music was excellent. The locals made a real fuss of us and gave us some great tips where to eat. Do not be put off if it looks busy; that is part of it’s charm

I have been going to Pocket (and BackPocket) since their inceptions and absolutely love the place. The owner, Suzy, is fantastic and her team is very attentive. I absolutely love the days/ nights when everyone just starts singing. Clearly a place worth going to over and over again.

Great place for date night. Came here on a Wed evening. The place is small (hence the name), but cozy. The bartenders are very attentive. Music was great with an eclectic mix that included Motown and alternative rock. I would definitely come back here again!

We just got lucky finding that little gem in huge New York We couldn’t help ourself and we end up in pocket every night Suzy, her husband and the girls working for her were superb accommodating, funny and friendly... we got chatting with regulars , enjoying superb music, the best draft beer ( according to himself) in NY and Sharkia ( sangria with the twist and too much alcohol for my poor head) ....

What a fantastic place. It is not to be missed in Hell's Kitchen. Enjoy a sangria, treat yourself to some complementary popcorn, partner with Susie for a dance. Intimate setting with a fantastic clientele.

Really glad we found this place. Very small but perfectly formed. Felt very cosy and comfortable. Owner was super friendly. Loved the complimentary popcorn. Quite pricey but would definitely recommend and return. Loved the bathroom (best toilet roll in Manhattan)

7 of us squeezed in here and were not disappointed. The music played was exactly our kind of music (spice girls, natalie imbruglia). Obviously the space is small but that didn’t matter as we got chatting to everyone else in there. Highly recommend
