Had such a fun night here. Shane was a cutie and so sweet. Love that they have a touch tunes too!! Great atmosphere

Swung by here for a quick drink recently after work. Hadn’t been to the new location- glad to see it’s the same vibe! Shane the bartender was lovely- attentive, quick, friendly and nice to banter with. Will definitely be back next time in the east village!

I came in with a group of 10, after the first five of us ordered (after waiting for almost 20 minutes) the rest of us went up to order. After another 20 minutes of waiting for the bartender to even look at us, we finally caught his attention and asked if we can order, and he said “maybe if your friends knew how to tip.” We were going to tip at the end of the night, but left after that. Overall bad experience :/

The bartender ignored my friends for 40 minutes who wanted to order because the group that came with us did not tip on their bill. When I asked if we could place an order, he said “when your friends learn to tip on a $40 bill.” I feel bad that he didn’t receive a tip from the other group, but this should’ve been a point brought up to them, instead of taking it out on other paying customers.

My favorite dive!! Been coming here since it was at the old location, and never had a bad experience. Shoutout to Alec and Johnny P for always being so delightful!

My first time ever meeting the mean bartender trope. I reached for one of the many small menus on the counter and wanted to read the menu. I suppose the bartender was trying to tell me it wasn’t a drink menu, he then gestured me to give it back and then proceeded to angrily throw the menu on the floor behind him. I have no idea what warranted that kind of response. He then proceeded to gossip about me to two ladies who seemed kind and probably uncomfortable. I simply left, someone like that shouldn’t work in food/beverage service. Sat night, the bartender was a white guy, can’t remember much else.

Very friendly barista, sort of run of the mill gay dive bar energy w/ pool tables and the like. Cheap drinks. My only complaint was that 1) they didn’t have readily accessible water and 2) the water that I did get tasted moldy/awful. Essentially, I had to ask the bartender who was fairly busy for water because their wasn’t a public cooler. When I eventually got his attention, he was worried the establishment was out of cups and I was only able to get water thanks to a random empty glass he found and cleaned. However, the water from the spout tasted…horrible…stale and sour. One of the friends I came with said that his vodka soda also tasted bad. Anyways, no knock to the staff but I think this place should check their soda dispensers/fountain system.

Love The Boiler Room!! Directions on Google Maps is a little wonky and navs to the old address on E 4th St. The existing (new) location is as listed at 45 E 2nd Ave. one block SW of the old location between E 3rd and E 2nd Streets.
