About this place Hombres Lounge

Hombres Lounge is a gay bar in Jackson Heights, Queens, a place that's always felt like a second home for New York City's queer community.

You’ll find it at 85-28 37th Ave, right in the thick of a neighborhood that’s been openly welcoming to LGBTQ+ residents and visitors for decades. This isn't a flashy Manhattan club; it’s a local spot, focused on community and easygoing nights. Think of it as a comfortable alternative to the scene across the river.

Expect a relaxed, social vibe. It's the kind of place you go to meet locals, catch up with friends, or just have a drink without any fuss. For specifics on when they’re open or what’s happening on a given night, check their website or call ahead.

It would be great if they posted more frequently so customers could know which dancers will be performing each day and what the schedule is. I've been several times and have to wait to see who's coming; sometimes they announce one group and then another group ends up performing. And just when I'm not there, the ones I really want to see show up 😅. Better promotion would greatly help us plan and enjoy the experience more.

I had a really disappointing experience here. The atmosphere felt unwelcoming if you do not speak Spanish. During my visit, I saw staff and the karaoke host laugh at and make comments about people who could not follow along in Spanish, to the point that it became uncomfortable. It was especially frustrating because we have supported this bar in the past and expected basic respect. If you are not a Spanish speaker, be aware that you may not be treated kindly.
