About This Event

The Black Party, or Black Party Rocks, is the biggest leather and fetish circuit party in the world. It happens every March in New York City, usually at Pier 94 in Manhattan or a similar big venue, pulling in about 10,000 people from all over. This is the main event for the global leather circuit calendar, the biggest leather/fetish/BDSM gathering in the Western hemisphere.

It's been running since 1981. That makes it one of the oldest circuit events anywhere. New York's leather community started it, wanting a big party that mixed circuit socializing with leather and fetish culture. The party goes all night, usually 10pm to 10am. You'll find different rooms, mostly techno and electronic music, plus a maze and darkroom built into the space.

There's a dress code: leather, rubber, latex, military, or other fetish gear. No exceptions. The STONEWALL INN GIVES BACK INITIATIVE, and the groups before it, have always tied HIV/AIDS fundraising and LGBTQ+ advocacy into the event. The Eagle NYC and other Chelsea leather bars run warm-up parties in the weeks before. Tickets sell out fast. This isn't for first-timers to leather or fetish culture. But if you're in it, it's essential.
