Newark Pride

Newark Pride runs for a week across New Jersey’s largest city, organized by the nonprofit Newark Pride, Inc. It wraps up with a parade and festival on Sunday. The 2026 edition marked the 21st iteration.

Held from 13 to 19 July 2026 under the theme "Our Bodies. Our Stories. Our POWER!", the schedule packed in an opening reception, a ballroom night, and the Sakia Gunn Day of Service. That last one honors the 15-year-old Newark lesbian killed in 2003. The main parade and festival took place on Sunday, 19 July, featuring performers on the Rodney Gilbert Mainstage. Confusion reigned over the festival site; some listings pointed to NJPAC, others to Mulberry Commons. Organizers tallied 163 events and 48 LGBTQ+ partner organizations across the week.

Dates for 2027 remain unannounced.
