What a lovely Inn -- I stayed in the Carhart Room which has old cross beams and wide plank floors preserved and plenty of windows for natural light. The attention to detail in everything is notable -- not too plain, not too fussy, just right. Great mattress and pillows, really yummy breakfast (good coffee!) served with great good cheer and warmth. Great shower. All tech stuff in working order (ceiling fan remotes, TV, etc). So much lovely wood everywhere, including the wonderful porch style swing. Easy check in. All good! The reason for 4 stars for location is simply because there isn't much of interest within walking distance, and the Inn is located at the intersection of two main roads -- as all decent Inns were before cars!
I could not have been happier with this B&B. I was really just passing through town for a night when it popped up on my phone as an option and I thought “Why not?” What a great decision. It is a beautiful facility based around a historic house and barn. It is clean, quiet, comfortable, with nods to history in all the ways you want while being completely modern in all the ways you need. Add a sprinkling of homemade baked goods, the welcoming friendliness of the staff and a menu of breakfast choices cooked to order and why would you stay anywhere else in this quaint and scenic area? There is something truly great about a hot cup of morning coffee and a nice conversation with the cook while smelling your breakfast being prepared that no hotel chain can ever match. And the area around Amherst was so charming to explore, I stayed a second night.
Stayed here for our daughter's graduation from UMass. It was absolutely perfect. Clean, organized and friendly! Wish I planned a longer stay!!
This is an outstanding find we wish we had known about sooner. The Inn is beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and kept. The breakfast and home baked goods are outstanding. True New England charm .
Room was spotless and lovely. Breakfast was outstanding and the chickens were super cute (if you chose to visit them; they were NOT obtrusive.
The staff couldn't have been more friendly rooms we're beautiful and clean breakfast was great. We will definitely be returning
Beautiful accommodations! The room and inn was gorgeous with a very comfortable bed. Check in was very easy and the inn keepers were so welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. This is close to U Mass (the purpose of our visit). I would 200% stay here again. My daughter and I loved this place!
