We stayed at the Old Mill Inn while attending the Green River Festival, and it turned out to be the perfect festival headquarters. It’s about a 30-minute drive from the fairgrounds along winding back roads, which felt like a pleasant decompression chamber between the crowds, music, and inevitable debate about which food truck had the best fries. We booked the downstairs suite and were genuinely surprised when we opened the door. Calling it a “room” feels unfair. It was enormous. There was a huge kitchen, a cozy living room, and enough space that we briefly considered moving in permanently. After spending all day on our feet at the festival, it was exactly the kind of place you want to come back to. Breakfast deserves its own standing ovation. Every morning we woke up excited to see what was coming next, and somehow it always exceeded expectations. If breakfast had been available all day, we might never have left the inn. What really made the stay special, though, was the staff. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly in a way that can’t be faked. We felt less like guests and more like people they were happy to see. The only thing to note is that the walls are on the sociable side, and we could occasionally hear our neighbors. It wasn’t a problem for us, but if you’re hoping to hear a pin drop, you may want to pack earplugs. All in all, the Old Mill Inn was comfortable, charming, and full of character. We’d happily stay again, especially if there was another festival, another excuse to visit, or another breakfast waiting for us in the morning.

Falling asleep to the sound of the waterfall was a really relaxing and unique experience. The suites themselves are huge and well kept. The staff are also wonderful. When I asked about gluten free options for breakfast they made me fresh raspberry scones. So delicious!

Not only is the location beautiful, but the people running this Inn are outstanding. It's like staying with family. Good family! The kind that takes care of you. Rooms are clean and lovely. The breakfast is delicious. One of our favorite places.

Beautifully restored inn overlooking the falls on the Mill River. Perfect mix of modern and rustic. Priscilla, the gracious Innkeeper, met us at the door and escorted us to our room. We fell asleep to the music of the falls through our open window. *I was grateful for the grab bar in the shower - the 1st inn we encountered with this safety precaution! We hope to be back soon.

The Old Mill Inn in Hatfield is a beautifully restored boutique inn set inside a historic mill building on the Mill River. It feels unique and atmospheric, with a mix of industrial heritage and modern renovation. The standout feature is the river running through the property and the sound of the small waterfall, which creates a very calm and scenic environment. The place feels more like a peaceful retreat or design-focused inn than a typical hotel, with a strong emphasis on character, nature views, and quiet comfort.

We stay here whenever we are traveling in New England. Impeccably kept, the renovation and restoration have kept the character of the old mill but also made it welcoming and comfortable. It's an idyllic setting and the staff couldn't be lovelier. And the homemade breakfast biscuits are better than ever!

10/10 experience all around. Innkeeper even let me take an interview call in the hotel after I checked out
