I recently stayed at the Orlando Palms Hotel while attending a convention in Orlando, if I could leave minus 5 stars, I would. The location is one of the few positives. The hotel is conveniently located between the airport and the convention center, making it easy to get around. Our room appeared clean, and we were given a first-floor room. However, the property overall felt very run down. The building looked dated, had an unpleasant smell throughout many areas, and did not give the impression of a well-maintained hotel. Despite the room appearing clean, I still felt uncomfortable enough that I preferred to shower with sandals on. The biggest issue occurred on our fourth day. That morning, I accidentally clogged the toilet while rushing out to work. When my roommate and I returned later that evening, we went to the front desk to request assistance. To our surprise, the front desk employee informed us that there was no maintenance person available and that she could not help us. We asked if we could be moved to another room, but were told there were no rooms available. We then requested a plunger. A few minutes later, while we were sitting in the lobby eating dinner, the employee approached us and handed us the plunger in front of everyone. My roommate asked whether hotel staff should be handling this issue rather than paying guests. The employee responded, “Do you want the plunger or not?” At that point, I took the plunger because I had no interest in spending the night in a room with an unusable bathroom. I went back to the room and resolved the issue myself. What was most disappointing was not the clogged toilet itself—these things happen. It was the complete lack of customer service and professionalism. We were offered no assistance, no alternative room, no apology, and no effort to make the situation right. The front desk employee was dismissive, rude, and seemed completely uninterested in helping paying guests. Adding to the frustration, I later learned that my roommate was banned from the property following this interaction, despite simply questioning why guests were expected to perform what should have been a basic maintenance task. Based on my experience, I would not stay here again. The location is convenient, but the poor condition of the property and the lack of customer service outweigh any benefit of the location.

DON'T LETYOUR TOILET GET CLOGGED. 🤬 Honestly, this place isn't amazing but for the price we knew that. However, a toilet was clogged and wouldn't flush. That front desk lady (Claudia) said she couldn't fix the toilet/ plunge it because she works the front desk. Also, she stated she couldn't leave despite the desk being empty for at least 10 minutes while I was waiting to check in. Ultimately she decided to go get a plunger from the back and give it to us while we were in the middle of having our meal. When I asked her if she was seriously handed that to us while we were eating her response was yes. I also couldn't believe she expected us to be the plumber for the hotel. Her response was " You take the plunger or not." I told her you were absolutely rude and your behavior was unacceptable. She proceeded to say what the worst tone and attitude possible that she was sorry when my response was no you're not when she told me yes I am whether you believe it or not. The rest of the conversation is irrelevant all you need to know if this is not a place to go if you want customer service another customer overheard the conversation in the lobby and agreed you're right don't let your toilet get stuff because they will not help you they will not fix it at all. Did I mention if someone had thrown up in the elevator we made them aware of it and they didn't clean it up until the next day. While the rooms themselves are clean they are not luxurious by any stretch but considering the price but you expect besides decency and the little respect from the customer service and to not be a plumber for a place that you don't work for. Lord forbid you asked for the manager because she's the manager, the owner and everything else except the plumber. Note the photo with the desk that is empty that she could not leave.
