poor service (save for the handful on Medical side) catering towards Caucasian/“white washed” individualxs, guised as counterculture queer+ healthcare feigning understanding of BBIPoC populations and experiences.
This place doesn't seem to treat males well to say the least. I was very disturbed with the fact that the providers made the diseases I was suffering with for years due to my condition as something "natural" not to mention the disgusting way they referred to it. I happen to be a survivor and what I consider a suffering veteran. One front desk person I talked to was good, I think the registrar?,but it's too bad he wasn't a provider. I won't name the disease but I even later learned they had an actual party for it in their feminist filled space.
They're impossible to get in with and always mess up billing and don't work well with insurance. I have Aetna through my employer and even for routine care they constantly put things through the wrong lab and I end up with a $200 bill after. There are literally other queer doctors in the city (Dr. Christopher Stoll). And never once have I ever had a lab issue or an additional charge from them. I'm so over Mazzoni get it together and stop charging queer people so much money send your stuff to the right labs it's not just me this happens to.
Kind of shocked to see so many negative reviews. I’ve genuinely never had a better intake experience than here. The security and receptionists were very kind and attentive, the nurse was so friendly and welcoming, Dr. Hines took her time answering every question I had and thoroughly explaining what needed to be done, and I have never experienced a doctor so patient. I was even referred to their behavioral health department and the professional i spoke to from there was also so so kind and understanding, as well as the phlebotomist who i saw. I may be biased because i uprooted my life and moved across the country to escape an unsafe situation, but Id just like to remind the negative reviewers that there are people who can’t access gender affirming care at all let alone in a facility dedicated to us and our community full of people who respect us. Thank you Mazzoni.
I’ve been going to the Mazzoni Center for years. While it can sometimes be difficult to reach them by phone, they recently updated their system to tell you your place in line, which is helpful. I’ve never had any issues with the staff, and my PCP, Dr. Watkins, is easy to reach through the portal. He’s always helpful, never rushes me, and consistently follows up. Overall, I’ve had a very positive experience with Mazzoni.
I am continuously disappointed by Mazzoni. I CANNOT get a hold of anyone, ever. Either phones are down completely or there are 20 people ahead of me on the phone queue. I don’t blame the staff, but it’s insane and honestly negligent how disorganized they are. It’s Friday at 1pm and all their phones and scheduling app is down (the app has been down for a year or more). No one calls you back, your labs will take weeks, you’ll only get partial answers, they don’t sign off on ADA paperwork - I can’t go on. I’ve been a patient for 2+ years and am finally giving up. Thanks for dropping the ball on so many queer and trans people, Mazzoni!
