One-n-Ten

One-n-Ten is the defining LGBTQ+ youth organisation in Arizona — a Phoenix-based non-profit that has been serving unhoused, at-risk, and marginalised LGBTQ+ young people aged 14-24 since 1993. The organisation's work addresses the specific and urgent crisis of LGBTQ+ youth homelessness: young people who have been rejected by their families, aged out of foster care, or otherwise found themselves without stable housing in a city that is not always easy to navigate without resources. One-n-Ten provides drop-in services, transitional housing, education and employment programmes, mental health support, and the kind of comprehensive case management that allows a young person to rebuild a stable life. The Central Avenue location puts the organisation in the same corridor as Kobalt Bar and the light rail, making it accessible to the young people it serves. The organisation also runs programming for LGBTQ+ youth who are housed but isolated — the social programming, community events, and support groups that prevent the kind of isolation that can precede a housing crisis.
