Bear Week Provincetown 2026

Bear Week Provincetown is the world's biggest bear gathering. It happens every July in Provincetown, right at the tip of Cape Cod, which is probably America's most openly gay town. For one week, thousands of bears, cubs, and their admirers just take over Commercial Street and the beaches. This sleepy New England fishing village becomes the bear capital of the world.

Over 15,000 bears come, from the US and abroad. They spend the week at beach meetups, on harbor cruises, in the bars at night, and at the legendary Bear Week Pool Party. Provincetown itself—the dunes, the galleries, the drag shows at the Crown & Anchor—makes Bear Week different from other circuit events.

Bear Week P-Town has run for over 25 years. It’s still *the* event on the bear calendar. The place combines natural beauty, a tight-knit community, and the weight of Provincetown's LGBTQ+ history. That gives it an emotional pull bigger circuit events just can't match.
