Absolutely loved our stay…wish all hotels could be like this—small, cozy, interesting, quiet. Our main floor room opened into the garden area with its own seating. We were adjacent to the marvelously stocked kitchen with 24-hour access to delightful nibbles. Though we knew there were other guests, we never heard them and rarely saw them. The two library-like seating areas offered unusual and interesting reading materials along with comfortable spots to relax …maybe with a coffee or a wine. Parking was abundant; the neighborhood was quiet but interesting places were within strolling distance. Arriving in the city center was quick and easy. The host was easily accessed and provided helpful information for first-time Raleigh visitors. Our only issue is we’re not a fan of the surge pricing and variable rates—but that seems unavoidable industry-wide.
My partner and I stayed here recently for a friend's wedding. We purposely choose this location because we're from out of state and were looking for an elevated experience to treat ourselves while we were in town for the wedding. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. The rooms are mostly okay, however the bed in the room was terrible. The mattress was collapsed into a "V" formation and since there was no one on site when we checked in, this couldn't be fixed until the next day. Therefore neither myself or my partner got any sleep the night before the wedding. Thankfully maintenance showed up the next day and managed to get the bed to an acceptable state, but for this price point we'd expect more. One of the two showers also didn't work (water would not come out of the main faucet, only the handheld one) which made the allure of dual showers pointless. We waited until 10am for the provided hours where someone would be onsite, went downstairs, and found no one. The call line was more responsive. Finally, we had paid for the late check out for 12pm, and yet got a text expecting us to get checked out at 11am. We responded saying we paid for late check out, with the response being late check out would be an extra $25, however we had already paid said $25 at booking. Overall, the space is nice and I can see how in earlier iterations the property would warrant the reviews it has gotten so far. However, our experience on this visit was poor, cost us our experience at a wedding, and generally felt lacking in service for the price point. Hopefully this feedback can improve the experience for others.
I think it’s ridiculous they want to charge you in order to sit in the common space before your check in. That’s silly and dumb, especially for such a small city like Raleigh.
Where to even start? Guest House had it all, no kids, free breakfast, good communication, quiet and clean rooms, on top of a great location. I flew to NC for work and couldn't be happier with my choice to stay here. Do yourself a favor~ I'm putting this here just to show the thoughtfulness and consideration of Guest House Raleigh: we didn't know it was expected to rain hard on the night we arrived, Guest House Raleigh left us an umbrella by the front door to take with us ♥️✨
Absolutely loved our stay at the Guest House in Raleigh! The location was convenient and we were able to walk to a local restaurant and park. Our lodging was so comfortable and clean. I hope to stay here again if I travel to Raleigh again!!
The rooms were super cozy, but the service was out of this world---managers returned a jacket we left in our room. We would definitely stay here again----they made our graduation weekend trip so memorable!
