The lobby is nice and the people were lovely. That's all that I can say nice. So the small annoyances. The bed was like sleeping on a board and the pillows were non existent after 10 minutes. No fluff. The room was outdated and had chipped tile, strings coming off the sofa, use patterns. I found hair that didn't belong to us in the sheets, indicating poor cleaning. I found more hair under the bathroom sink. The toilet was weirdly too low. The sink and the shower didn't drain properly, so standing water. But the best was when the AC stopped working both nights! We had maintenance come after night one. They "fixed it" where it was turned to 62 and it felt like 70. But even that does after awhile, specifically 10pm at night. My wife got sick after we stayed there. We got some points for our problems.

1) the staff was fantastic and overcame the massive deficiencies of the hotel. 2) mobile check in and mobile key - did not work and hasn’t worked on this and several other recent stays . Marriott needs to figure this out. Either make it work or remove it as an option from the app. 3) inconsistencies between the amenities and features on the bonvoy app and the properties. (See pictures). On the club level and app said drinks 24/7. Reality of the property, closed all weekend. This is becoming the standard- less amenities for customers with status. 4) air conditioning did not work . Hit 80-81 over night. (See picture of thermostat set at 66 and could not even get close). 5) overall, well trained, polite, and professional staff. Reason it got 2 vice 1 star.

Sadly I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel last night. Lots of scuff marks on the chair so I couldn’t use it and the shower had two temperatures… Scalding hot and boiling hot so I could not shower. But the worst part was that even though it was 86° outside and the air-conditioner was set to 52 it didn’t get cooler than 76° inside the room all night long which is not unbearable but considering how humid it was outside, I had a hard time sleeping.

I’ve been traveling for work for over 10 years and spend nearly half the year in hotels. This was, without question, the worst hotel stay I’ve ever had. The property does not have air conditioning, and what made the experience even worse was how unprepared the staff and management were to handle the situation. There was no effort to anticipate guests’ needs or provide any meaningful solution to improve our comfort during the stay. When a major amenity like air conditioning is unavailable, guests expect management to offer alternatives or accommodations. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. If comfort and customer service matter to you, I strongly recommend avoiding this property. There are far better options available.

Come here if you want black mold and a muggy stuffy room because there is no a/c. Worst hotel in all of Raleigh.
