Zero Zero

Love this place. Gonna miss it. Leaves a big hole in SF...

Went again and absolutely loved every single item. The good: Valencia pizza Margherita di buffalo pizza Arancini starter Verbal gratuity cocktail The ok: Garlic bread - a little soft and less taste of garlic bread Distefano burrata - the bread a little too hard First visit: Really good Fillmore pizza and even better spaghettoni. Some vegetarian options available, while other can be customized to be. Tiramisu seemed to be lacking in flavor though. In drinks both paid vacation and hitting your stride are good options for those who don't like bitter beer options. The latter also pairs well with the food. Decent service and nice seating. Overall decent experience.

I'm devastated to hear Zero Zero is closing. They've been one of my favorite local restaurants and go to for pizza and pasta. Thank you for making the Yerba Buena neighborhood even better. We'll miss you! My first visit was back in 2010 shortly after they opened, and my first review was April 9, 2011. Over the next 12 years, I've visited countless times, and quickly found my favorites to be the Castro Pizza, Spaghettoni Amatriciana, and Short Rib Radiatore. More recently, I've discovered the Little Gem salad, broccolini, and DiStefano Burrata. ANd of course dessert - best Tiramisu in town. And their soft serve (both the original Strauss and the current Double 8 Dairy) is amazing. I love the EVOO & Sea Salt topping - magical! Here's my original review from 04/09/11 for posterity (I think they might have stopped charging extra for parmesan cheese since then, as I never had that problem again) -- I loved Zero Zero. It's definitely a pain to get reservations on the weekend - the best I could do day-of on Friday was 10:45pm. But we had a great meal and enjoyed delicious drinks. I ordered the Castro pizza (Sopressata, Sausage, Tomato Sauce, Mozzarella, Basil) which was absolutely fantastic, perfect with some crushed red peppers, and a glass of Rye Baby (Rye Whiskey, Bonal, Lemon, Maraschino) on the side. I was also greatly amused to discover that in the booths near the front the lights are on a dimmer, so you can adjust appropriately to set the mood :) While we didn't get dessert, it certainly looked great - a built-your-own sundae extravaganza! Everything was nearly perfect, except a surprise charge for the parmesan cheese I ordered on the side. I hardly used it, but I always request red peppers and parmesan cheese as if they are a set (its like Salt and Pepper, not good to separate them). If the waitress had mentioned a charge, I'd have just passed on it, but seeing even a small charge on the final bill felt petty. Minus 1 star for that. Pros: + Delicious pizza + Excellent cocktails + Mood lighting + Easy parking + Friendly staff Cons - Difficult reservations / long wait - Random charge for parmesan cheese

As always love their pizzas. Usually order the geary or filmore

One of the best restaurants in the city, it will be missed. 💜
