Everything was great, except the pool was out of service, so that was a bummer. That’s my only critique. Golden Host is fab!

I can’t say enough about the Golden Host Resort in Sarasota, Florida. This is a tropical oasis and the saltwater pool is wonderful. It is near the Sarasota Jungle Gardens and The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art. Both are a must see. At the end of the day sightseeing and visiting St. Armands Circle it was nice to come back to a clean and spacious room. We liked the peaceful atmosphere and felt welcome from the time we arrived. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. When we arrived home I realized I had left my garment bag in the room. We immediately called the hotel and they acknowledged that housekeeping had turned it in. I claimed it and they marked it claimed. I sent them a prepaid label to return it to me. Novem ( hotel employee) was very instrumental in this coming to fruition. A great big thank you to him. This resort is lucky to have such a dedicated employee. Again, stay at The Golden Host Resort when visiting Sarasota!

Just loved being relaxed and worry free. The other guests were very pleasant. Enjoyed my visit to Sarasota! Everything around the area was close by and convenient for us. And thank you to the staff for a pleasant stay. On point if we needed anything! I don’t remember the name of the gentleman who came to out room and told me how to work the tv! Thanks again!

Just to be clear and fair, overall, this place is well worth it but a are to be noted. First, the location is good and very convenient to downtiwn Sarasota (8 min) and the different beaches (13 min to Saint Armand circle). The room was quite and away from the road. Many restaurants within a few minutes drive, neighborhood Walmart and CVS within 3 min drive. The price was very good. I booked through TripAdvisor and it was $80 all included. The check-in was easy and the front desk staff was nice. Need to note: They may allow you a slightly early check-in (2 pm instead of 3 pm) if the room is available. However, anything before that, they will charge you $20 per hour even if the room is available and empty. Nice way to make easy money. The pool area is nice and clean. During the mid/late summer the pool water will get warm. The room was clean and everything was working fine. However it's old and need a refresh (floor has rips, doors are cracked/chipped and an overall fresh paint will definitely help). Also. note this is not a "resort" in a traditional way. It's more of a very nice road motel that has a nice pool area.
