Bugs in my room and crawling in the bed. After letting front desk know they only offer to bring fresh sheets, can of bug spray and only 50 percent off. I let the staff know the situation after just a few hours of checking in and i didnt feel comfortable staying in the room. We were on a work trip and didn't have any options and had to stick it out.. the next morning I wake up to more dead bugs..

I have never experienced a bug infestation at a hotel in my entire life until my stay at this Holiday Inn Express. My company booked this room for me because our work truck was being serviced, meaning I was effectively stranded and could not simply leave to find another hotel for the night. It was an incredibly distressing experience. Within just a few hours of checking in, I found bugs in my room. There were three crawling **in my bed** during the daytime, and more in the bathroom. I actually caught the bugs from the bed in a tissue and brought them directly down to the front desk to show the night staff as physical proof. Despite seeing the bugs firsthand, her "solution" was simply to hand me fresh sheets and a can of bug spray. I was forced to remake my own bed and personally spray down the entire room myself. Because I sprayed the room, I found two more dead bugs by the door the next morning. When I asked the night staff for a full refund due to the undeniable conditions, she refused and only promised a laughable $30 credit. The next morning, I spoke with a manager who was helpful and assured me they were putting in a request for a full refund. However, I later received an email offering only a 50% discount and an apology. A 50% refund for a bug-infested room that left me completely distraught and unable to sleep the entire night is insulting. To make matters worse, while I was waiting in the lobby to check out, I noticed bugs crawling on the window shades and on the ceiling right by the front desk. Whether this is due to the age of the building, the summer season, or a severe lack of property maintenance, it is clearly a building-wide issue, not just an isolated room problem. I just want to warn people: if you stay at this hotel, plan on dealing with bugs and expect an incredibly uncomfortable, sleepless night.
