The Westin Tempe

I’ve stayed there for 3 weeks. Forgot my phone at the checkout. Came back after a week! They kept my phone clean and ready for my name ! They’ve always showed me a great gesture! I’ve travelled internationally, but haven’t had a great experience at this level!!! Stay blessed! Austin & Spirit are the one’s ! (Front Desk)

Great hotel overall.

This place sucks... Save your money. They gave our room away with a king size bed away and instead "upgraded" us to a room with double queens. The pool wasnt even cold, way way overcrowded and so tiny. The hot tub wasnt operating (and it's memorial day weekend). We were charged 20$ more than the front desk said we would be for valet service. Then no cart to help carry up our luggage. So we had to make multiple trips to our room on the 17th floor and valet took our keys, leaving our car running in front of the hotel until we finished. No microwave in the room. Broken electrical outlets in our room that don't work. Restaurant menu is overpriced and leaves a lot to be desired. Roof top bar was out of mint. Never coming here again.

The hotel was fine. Valet & front desk folks were great, as were service & housekeeping. The lobby bar was nice and had good service, too. The two MAJOR issues for us: the rooftop bar/lounge had HORRIBLE service for anyone but those that appeared to know the staff. Two of us lliterally sat at the bar, middle seats with nobody on either side, for 15 minutes before finally flagging one of the 4+ servers/bartenders down for drinks. A subsequent food order was "lost" and took 45 minutes to track down & receive. I could name names of those that weren't helpful or attentive but management didn't seem to care so why should I? The second thing we didn't like was the amount of street/road noise in our room: a 5h floor corner suite sounded like a ground floor walk-out with the doors left open. We heard people talking on the street below & traffic noise ALL NIGHT long. It was louder then The Remi or W that are located in the "bar district" of Old Town Scottsdale, either of which would be better options than this hotel unless you want/need to be in downtown Tempe.

Hotel is nice but the employees up front aren’t helpful. A guy at the front desk said he’ll upgrade us to a suite and will call in 20 mins. When we came back the guy was gone and never upgraded our room. I’ve also asked countless times for housekeeping to change our sheets and clean. A woman up front typed it in the computer and we came back the room was still unclean.

Check in was a breeze! Room is above standard, beautiful views, comfy bed, and phenomenal shower! Had breakfast buffet this morning (first full day in Tempe) and the egg white omelet off the omelet station 🫠. They ran out of the wellness smoothie (you get one free) by 11 a.m. but I will grab one tomorrow morning.

Pretty Room. Loud. Party across the street and the sound reverberated throughout our room till about 1:30am. Breakfast was supposed to be included. Front desk said it didn’t show up on my account. I showed her my email, and got the tickets; however there was a time mixup that morning because of an event they were having. Brunch started at 10:30 and wasn’t covered, the front desk said they would cover it … and then it was on our bill. I had to get it removed. I just got an email that said the bill wasn’t right and we owe $85. A frustrating stay!

Happy with the connecting rooms and beautiful view. But since we were on the 11th floor, Friday and Saturday they had 2 parties and it was pretty loud until 1pm. That was annoying. Restaurant was beautiful but damn awful steak with the cob salad. Steak didn't have any seasoning and awful. Saturday we came for brunch, all you can eat breakfast. Horrible, as the pancakes were hard and was disappointing, the danish was awful as well. Smells bad and old. For $40 a plate, you could at least refresh your food every hour. I think the only thing I like was the omelet and bacon. Jack was amazing from engineering. He came right away to open my door since I was in the other connecting room and we were rushing.

I’ve been a Titanium Elite member with Marriott Bonvoy for over 7 years and have always held your brand to a high standard. Unfortunately, my recent 6-day stay at the Westin fell far below expectations. On my final day, I had a deeply concerning interaction with a staff member named Otis. I was denied access to the restroom without a reasonable explanation, and the situation escalated unnecessarily. His tone became confrontational, and the interaction continued outside in the parking area, where his behavior felt aggressive and unprofessional. This experience was shocking, especially given my loyalty to the brand. At no point should a guest—let alone a long-standing elite member—be treated in this manner. Because of this incident, I left feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. It has seriously impacted my perception of the Westin brand and Marriott as a whole. I am requesting: • A formal review of this incident • Follow-up from management • Appropriate steps taken to ensure this does not happen to other guests I would appreciate a prompt response, as I am reconsidering my continued loyalty to Marriott Bonvoy based on this experience.

Highly recommend this hotel. Very comfortable beds. Super clean and friendly staff.
