I lost my credit card at the airport, so naturally I needed an alternative payment method. What should have been a simple solution—using Google Pay or manually entering my credit card number—required calling a manager over for approval, which was frustrating. Aside from that, the hotel itself was exceptional. The room was outstanding, the location was excellent, and the overall property exceeded expectations. If the payment process were more streamlined, the experience would have been nearly perfect.
Having stayed at hotels literally all over the world I can honestly say this is one of the best & the experience is excellent. From the historic setting to the customer service that seeks to meet your needs before you ask it is truly a lesson in how important staff attitude & customer service really is & harkens to a, sadly, bygone era. Shout out to the staff as a whole for exemplary service & a special Thank you to Faruz, the beautiful woman who serviced our room, no request or service was too small & her cheerful & happy smile brightened the smallest interaction, she’s a real gem!
Staff is genuinely rude and hostile. I work in the service industry and would be embarrassed to give this level of support. The hotel and facilities are nice but I sadly can’t recommend booking an event here.
This place is fantastic, the service was impressive. Went to a show came back to the room the beds were turned down with slippers and water next to the bed it was perfect. Room service 24 hours was clutch.
Nobody pinch me—I don’t want to wake up from the dream of my most recent stay at the Hay Adams. I feel lucky to have just spent the most wonderful weekend there. Yes, the location (overlooking the White House) is unique. Yes, the building is historical, its architecture and decor beautiful. But what made the trip so special was the unparalleled service. The last time I experienced such hospitality at a hotel… must have been my last stay at the Hay Adams many years ago. Everyone you come into contact with makes you feel welcomed and right at home—from the people opening the lobby doors (Alfredo, Mario), to the hosts and servers at the Lafayette, to the in-room dining team, to the housekeeping team (Sylvette), and on, and on. Every staff member—without exception—was pleasant at a minimum, if not outright warm. Perhaps most impressive was how accommodating they were at every opportunity. If it was within their power, they made it happen. Any minor snags were immediately and graciously addressed. The things that struck me most were how I felt (1) effortlessly at-home, (2) well taken care of, and (3) *unburdensome*. Every moment of my stay was smooth and comfortable. I am grateful to everyone at the Hay Adams for their exceptional warmth and hospitality. Thank you for the loveliest, most restorative weekend.
