About this place HOPE DC

HOPE DC: a longstanding LGBTQ+ organization that grew out of Washington's community history. HOPE DC started in 1988, in the middle of the AIDS epidemic. It grew from a simple, urgent need: HIV-positive gay men, meeting during a clinical trial, realized they needed to support each other. That initial connection became an organization. Today, HOPE DC still focuses on education, outreach, and social support for the local LGBTQ+ community. HIV prevention and control remain central to their mission. If you’re in Washington and want to understand the real community, not just the nightlife, HOPE DC is a good place to start. You can learn about local health resources, get a sense of the city’s LGBTQ+ history, and even find ways to volunteer. It's an organization built on decades of resilience and mutual aid, which pretty much defines queer culture in Washington. You'll find HOPE DC on 14th Street Northwest. If you’re looking for health information, want to volunteer, or just want to know more about the groups that actually shape LGBTQ+ life here, check their website or contact them directly. It’s a way to see past the usual tourist spots and connect with institutions that truly matter to queer Washingtonians.

Today I called Community of Hope to schedule for an appointment. I was informed of the location that was open for new patients. The young lady that I spoke with was very professional. She spoke very well an with plenty of respect and kindness. I truly appreciate her to the fullest. I was scheduled right then. Thank you very much.

A six month waiting list is pretty outlandish I’ve never heard of being on a waiting list before you can even schedule an appointment. This is the same community clinic that gives pregnant women false information about their pregnancies
