About this place National Center for Lesbian Rights

The National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR) is a non-profit organization that’s been fighting for lesbian women’s equality since 1977. It’s an advocacy group, not a place you’d just drop into for a drink. They do legal work, pushing for social justice and LGBTQ+ rights from their base in Washington, D.C. If you’re interested in the history of LGBTQ+ activism, or how legal strategy actually works to change things, their website (nclrights.org) is where you’ll find details on what they do and how they do it. It’s a good primer on the kind of work that’s moved the needle for the community. You’ll find them on H Street, NW.
