Every time I have dined at Causa it has been a special experience. This is my 4th Michelin star restaurant I’ve dined at and it’s by far my favorite of them all so far. Everything feels personal. Every bite makes you think wow, I wish I could have savored and enjoyed that again for the first time. The staff is very attentive and detail oriented. The dishes were exciting to look at, it was like going to a museum but instead you use all of your senses to take it in. Loved the decor, the unique dish ware and silver ware paired for the dishes, the music selection. Everything was thoughtfully curated and made me feel like I was stepping into and enjoying an experience you would see akin to movies or shows like “the bear,” “burnt,” “the 100 foot journey,” etc.

Gorgeous atmosphere with evaluated dining options. Would recommend: highball or pisco sour drinks, scallops, skewers, and lomo saltado.

We had dinner at Amazonia on Friday, and it was honestly one of the best dining experiences I have had in years. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The design is thoughtful, unique, and has an energy that feels upscale without being overdone. It is the kind of place where you immediately know you are in for a special evening. Mateo took care of us, and he absolutely made the experience. We asked him to guide us through both the food and cocktail menu, and every recommendation was excellent. We ended up trying a wide variety of dishes, including the whole bream, and it was outstanding. We also shared the Cebiche Amazónico, Pulpo al Josper, Scallops a la Parmesana, and the Wagyu Lomo Saltado. Every dish had its own personality, was beautifully prepared, and made us want to keep ordering just to see what came next. What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. Every employee we interacted with was genuinely friendly, engaging, and seemed to care that we were having a great evening. That does not happen by accident. It is a reflection of strong leadership and a management team that clearly takes pride in creating an exceptional guest experience. You can feel that culture throughout the restaurant. There are plenty of restaurants with great food and beautiful spaces. It is much harder to find one that puts everything together at this level. Amazonia delivered on every front. We left talking about when we could come back, and that does not happen very often. If you go, ask for Mateo and let him guide your evening. You will be glad you did.
