About this place North Star LGBTQ+ Community Center

North Star LGBTQ+ Community Center has been Winston-Salem's LGBTQ+ centre since 2013, in a small building at 930 Burke Street on the edge of downtown. It reopened after a renovation in September 2023, in time for its tenth anniversary. The calendar runs into December 2026: a monthly "Gay-ming" afternoon on the last Sunday (3-6pm), The Rainbow Room social, Rainbow AA, a Young Adult Group for ages 18 to 25 and free STI/HIV testing. It also keeps a lending library and the Rainbow Directory of supportive businesses, churches and groups. Google lists drop-in hours as Friday 5-8pm and Saturday and Sunday 11am-3pm.
