Praia Pride – Marcha do Orgulho LGBTIQ+

Praia, the capital of Cabo Verde, has held an LGBTIQ+ Pride march since 2016, three years after the country's first Pride in Mindelo in 2013. In 2018 Pride Week in Praia included a parade through the city centre under the slogan 'De boa com quem sou' ('At peace with who I am'), debates at the University of Cabo Verde and a photo exhibition. ICIEG, the national gender-equality institute, Spanish Cooperation and the city council supported it. Same-sex relations have been legal since 2004. We couldn't find dated reports of any Praia march after 2018 or confirm who organizes it, so we can't say whether it still happens every year. Nothing has been announced for 2027.
