About this place Aero-Park Residencial (B&B)

Aero-Park Residencial is a small mainstream guesthouse listed as a B&B in Maputo, Mozambique. It is gay-friendly in this listing, not an LGBTQ+ venue. The name suggests a location near the airport area, but the stored address is only a plus code, so confirm exactly where it is before booking. Google reviews are fair (4.1 from about 40). There is no website on file; booking is by phone. Same-sex relations are legal in Mozambique, but public displays of affection draw attention, so keep things low-key.

As part of my planned visit to Maputo,I recently had a very negative experience with Aero Park Residential in Maputo. I booked a stay for $28 to obtain a receipt for my visa application. Unfortunately, my visa was denied multiple times. When I requested a refund, they insisted on providing an invitation letter instead, which I did not need (since the immigration refused the one I sent before), and was not the service I paid for. I've never paid for an invitation letter when traveling internationally. They did not inform me of any charges for this letter upfront. After the second visa denial, they agreed to a refund but said they will deduct $15 for the invitation letter, leaving me with only $13 of my original $28 back. This is unacceptable, especially since their online policy states free cancellation and says anything about paying for invitation letters. I'm extremely disappointed with their lack of transparency and refusal to honor their stated policies. I would not recommend this establishment. Such an exploitative place 🥲.
