About this place Maputo Afecc Gloria Hotel

The Afecc Gloria Hotel is a large, upscale hotel on Avenida da Marginal, the seafront road along Maputo Bay. It is a mainstream, gay-friendly property, not a gay hotel. Facilities include four restaurants, a cigar bar and a tea room, and Google reviewers rate it 4.3 from nearly 2,500 reviews. The Marginal is a business-and-leisure strip with beach bars and restaurants, though the city centre and Baixa are a taxi ride away. Mozambique decriminalised same-sex relations in 2015, but there is little visible gay scene, so discretion in public is still the norm.
