Quietly Queer: Low-Key LGBTQ+ Socials
Details
Join Quietly Queer for an afternoon hangout in the Castro!
We're heading to Twin Peaks Tavern, one of San Francisco's historic LGBTQ+ bars, for a relaxed afternoon of drinks and conversation. Whether you're in the mood for something nonalcoholic or a cocktail, come grab a beverage you'd like and hang out with us! Gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, nonbinary, and queer folks are welcome.
This isn’t a loud, "sceney" bar. There’s no dance floor or blasting music, just plenty of tables, large windows, and lots of natural light. It’s a relaxed place to sit, have a drink, and talk, with a more laid-back atmosphere than some of the Castro’s busier spots. This is a particularly low-key daytime gathering. There's no agenda, no forced introductions, and no expectation to be "on" socially.
This event will be led by event organizer William Kho, who's hosting his very first QQ event! He'll be wearing a Pride neckerchief, so he'll be easy to spot. Whether you're a regular at QQ or have been meaning to join us for the first time, we'd love to meet you!
🗓 Date & Time: Saturday, November 14, 12–2PM
📍 Location: Twin Peaks Tavern (401 Castro Street, San Francisco, CA)
💡 Vibe: Relaxed, friendly, daytime socializing. All ages are welcome, subject to venue entry requirements.
No need to bring anything other than yourself. Just grab a beverage to support the business and settle in with us! Looking forward to spending an afternoon together, welcoming some new faces, and enjoying a little Castro time.
See you there!

About the venue
Twin Peaks Tavern sits on the corner of Castro and Market streets in the Castro. It became a gay bar in the early 1970s and was one of the first in the US to put in clear windows instead of hiding its customers from the street. San Francisco made it a city landmark for that reason…
“Have you ever used a bathroom that smells like fresh bake cookies? Well this is your place. Go to the lower level restroom. Vents from next-door‘s cookie shop vent directly into the bathroom. It’s the best smelling bathroom in the world.” — Matty V, Google
“Anyone who respects the queer history of the Castro should come here. Jose was an amazing wealth of knowledge.” — Nick McIntyre, Google
