About this place Holiday Inn Express

Holiday Inn Express on Wharf Street is a gay-friendly option in Brisbane's CBD, with a straightforward, no-frills approach that's hard to fault. It's a relatively new building, and the rooms are compact but well-equipped: blackout blinds that actually work, plenty of USB points, a large TV, a minifridge, and tea and coffee facilities. You'll get a light breakfast included in the rate, which is a nice touch. The hotel's location is its strongest suit: the CBD, the river, and Fortitude Valley's bars are all within walking distance, or just one bus stop away. If you're looking for a place to crash during a short city stay, this fits the bill - just don't expect to spend much time in your room. Check the hotel's site for parking details and current rates, which can vary.

Terrible service not enough staff to check people in and run a bar and restaurant. No cutlery in cutlery containers on restaurant tables, not recommended for an IHG hotel.

Stayed here recently and had a great experience. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet, which is exactly what you want after a long day. The staff were friendly and welcoming, check-in was quick, and everything just worked the way it should. The included breakfast was a nice bonus too. I went down planning on a light breakfast and somehow left feeling like I'd prepared for a marathon. The location made it easy to get around, and the overall experience was excellent value for money. No complaints at all – I'd happily stay here again.

Lovely set up on a winter night. Great food choices, generous serving and reasonable taste and presentation. Our server Francesca was amazing.

The hotel offers breakfast included and is located walking distance from howard smith wharf and the fortitude valley. Easy to park overnight for free and with ticket during the day. The rooms are clean but sometimes a bit overdue of care but nothing major to worry about. Close to the cbd and public transport as well as to major highways to the north and south.
