I wrote this all in an email and received no reply or acknowledgement so now I feel compelled to warn others. Here were several things that were disappointing about this hotel: 1. The remote for the blackout blind was missing from our room, meaning we didn't have the opportunity to see out of our window or get any natural lighting in our room all weekend. 2. The blackout blind didn't reach the edges of the window - looked melted or something, and it let the light in early in the morning. 3. There was no fridge in our room. Fortunately, your helpful receptionist brought us up some milk when I requested it. 4. The ironing board was hidden under the bed - no instruction or sign to tell us where this was and difficult to get out once we found it. 5. Our room was not made up on Saturday. 6. The music from a nearby club was very loud until very late/early in the morning. It seems there is no sound proofing. Perhaps this is part of the deal of being in Fortitude Valley, but we are from out of town and didn't know that, so a warning or offering something like ear plugs could have been helpful. 7. We booked via booking.com, which says your hotel has a pool - so we came prepared for a swim! There is also a photo from someone's google review with a picture of a pool. Perhaps you can request this info be taken down by booking.com at least? We also thought there was much more available in the hotel in terms of breakfast or a cafe area due to the photos, so felt a bit misled. 8. The carpet in the rooms need a good deep clean, as they feel sticky. Just raising this as I imagine you don't go bare foot while you are at work so you wouldn't know. 9. Less important, but while we're here: The sheets and doona cover were a bad fit, revealing the mattress and the doona very easily, which felt a bit cheap. Given that we paid over 700$ for the room for two nights, we felt a bit fleeced and won't be returning. Hopefully you can consider these points and improve your services or reduce your costs/add instructions for future guests.

Can't say enough good things about this place. Georgia at the front desk was awesome handling every question this American traveler had. Everyone at the desk was great, but Miss Georgia really stepped it up. Chose this location due to its proximity to the work I was doing. Price is right on average. Rooms are a little small, but very, very livable. I made do for the 2 weeks I stayed here.

The Constance Hotel in Fortitude Valley presents itself as a boutique hotel, but my experience felt closer to an upper-end backpacker-style stay than a true boutique offering. The hotel is tucked away in an alleyway, and the room was quite cramped. There was also an unpleasant urine-like smell when I first arrived, although it did fade after a while. Facilities were very limited: no room service, no in-house restaurant, no lounge area to unwind, no minibar, and no real in-room entertainment — very much bare essentials. And when I say essentials, I mean essentials. That said, there were two genuine positives: the bed was sensational, and the room was surprisingly quiet, which made for a decent night’s sleep. Would I stay again? Only if I was desperate or had no better option nearby.

I gave 1 star only because giving 0 stars was not possible. We are extremely disappointed with our experience at this hotel. We left our luggage in their locker storage area, which is only accessible to staff, and several personal belongings were stolen, including cash, jewellery, and other valuable items. What upset us the most was the way the situation was handled. After initially telling us they would investigate the incident, they never seriously followed up and did not even bother checking the security cameras. Instead, they simply shifted all responsibility onto Bounce without offering any real help or support. The most disturbing part is that the locker area was only accessible to employees, which makes the situation even more serious and raises very concerning questions about staff involvement. We trusted the hotel to keep our belongings safe, and the lack of professionalism, accountability, and empathy we received afterwards made the whole experience even worse. No guest should feel unsafe or ignored after such a serious incident. Nobody should trust staying at this hotel if this is how they handle theft and customer safety. We would strongly advise other guests to be extremely careful when leaving valuables here.
