About this place The Wickham

The Wickham says it has been an LGBTQIA+ venue since the 1970s, and it's the easiest first stop in Fortitude Valley. Expect drag, DJs and a beer garden stage, plus a kitchen doing woodfired pizza and pub meals. A $3.1 million refit reopened the pub in March 2024, and its door policy is open to everyone, so the crowd is mixed. It opens at 10am every day and closes at midnight on Monday and Tuesday, 2am Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, and 3am on Friday and Saturday. Its street party, Big Gay Day, skipped 2026 and is due back in 2027.
