About This Event
Brisbane Pride Festival started in 1990 as a rally and march that finished with a small gathering at Musgrave Park. It was run by a collective for its first years and has been Brisbane Pride Inc. since incorporation in 2002. It now runs for about a month in the southern spring.
The festival is a calendar of community events, but the day that matters is the rally and march followed by Fair Day. The march leaves Fortitude Valley and ends at the Fair Day park, where stalls, stages and community groups take over until late afternoon. Fair Day has moved between New Farm Park and Musgrave Park in South Brisbane over the years, so check the venue each year. Fair Day has a ticketed entry.
The 2025 rally, march and Fair Day took place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Musgrave Park, in the festival's 35th year.
For 2026 the organizers announced a later schedule: the festival runs September 26 to October 31, and the rally, march and Fair Day are on Saturday, October 24, with Fair Day back at New Farm Park, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The same day, Melt Festival holds its River Pride Parade. We found no recent attendance figure.
