About this place Element Bar

Element Bar is a laid-back bar and kitchen on Harbour Drive in the Jetty precinct, the walkable dining-and-drinks strip of Coffs Harbour. It is a mainstream, gay-friendly venue, not a gay bar: craft beer, wine and cocktails, a full food menu, and live music at weekends in a relaxed room. Coffs Harbour has no dedicated LGBTQ+ bar, so mixed spots like this are where queer locals tend to drink alongside everyone else. For gay nightlife you would need Brisbane or Sydney. Check the website for current gig listings.

This is a great bar, Cool service and vibe, there is some good music and lots of quiet neeks to get away from it all. The food is tasty and substantial.

My friend and I had dinner here yesterday. My friend ordered anancini balls and a plate of mac cheese balls. When the food arrived, they were both anancini balls. When I complained to the waiter, they were very rude and demanded that I take the wrong dish to the kitchen to prove I was telling the truth. I understand that as a non-native English speaker, I might not be able to explain the situation clearly, so I asked them to come to our table so that other English speakers could explain. They refused outright and questioned whether we had already eaten the food before trying to change it. Ironically, how could we tell they were anancini balls if we hadn't cut them open? Reluctantly, I took the food to the kitchen to show them. They then said that since we had already eaten, they couldn't handle it and asked, "So what do you want now?" I ask that they at least give us one correct mac cheese ball. Then, things got even worse; instead of giving us a mac cheese ball, they gave us a new plate of anancini balls.

What a funky, cool place! Loved everything about Element Bar. Live music, friendly staff and food was terrific. 3 steaks cooked perfectly as requested and the most flavoursome chilli prawn and chorizo fettuccine. Dessert was devine! Highly recommend 🙌
