Convenient location, great service. Super tired from a business trip to Tokyo, so I tried Qingya Pavilion's in-room service. The girl came directly to the room, no strange charges, super attentive service, perfect privacy, and even though I don't understand Japanese, it went smoothly. I went straight to sleep afterward. Highly recommended! TG @meiyou06 #Osaka #Tokyo #JapanIn-roomService #Osaka #JapaneseBubbleBath #OsakaCulture #Tokyo #TokyoIn-roomService #JapanAffairs
I normally do not write reviews but my experience warranted a truthful exposure of how they treat their guests. Staff were not friendly or courteous. On the check out day, the manager of the hotel charged me a late check out penalty of 5000JPY for not returning the locker key for the shoes, even though I was within the T&Cs of their contractual policy. The T&Cs clearly states to return the key by 2pm on the day of check out which I adhered to by returning at 1:55pm however they said I was late and they had to make a new key cut because I failed to do so. This was a lie as they pulled out an extra spare set of keys they already had in the back room which they had for every locker. I have evidence to support this claim however they were not accepting my no fault. They were argumentative and escalated this further by threatening to call the local police if I did not pay the fine, and deliberately held onto my luggage and moved it without my consent to their back room. In the end I had no choice to pay the fine as I was running late for my flight after they had been arguing and kept me there for 20 minutes. To top it all off, when I came to pay, the manager then instantly reduced this to 3000JPY which made me question their whole policy, his rash intentions of 'wanting to make a quick buck', and overall runnings of this hotel. This was a really bad end to my travels in Japan and left a sour note on my trip in Tokyo. Would not recommend.
The experience was kinda so-so for me I think? I’ve read about them having 2 different buildings - an old one and a newly renovated one, and surprisingly, I got to experience both, with different types of rooms even. First I went to a concert solo, so I booked a night at the female dorm, then 2 other nights in a private double room with my sister who came later. What amazed me deeply was that the first experience was way better than the second despite the second one being the “VIP private room” lol. The dorm’s only drawback is that they ban loid noise such as hair dryers’ after 11 PM and well, you’re never back from a concert early. That aside, everything else about the dorm was nice and worth its value. They have many shower/toilet cubicles, lavatories, amenities,… so you literally never have to wait for your turn to use anything although there are over 10 other people sharing the same room with you. My assigned bed was the one at the top and I was too tired to bother using the locker so I just locked my suitcase and left it on the floor at the corner. Didn’t lose anything nor experience any inconvenience. The only loud sound was actually the bathroom door creaking lol. As for the second room which was the VIP one, it’s borderline terrible. There’s so little space we had to squeeze and could (almost) fully open one suitcase at a time, which was much more inconvenient compared to the dorm room. Since it’s too small, it’s super hard to climb up the top bed and there wasn’t a single time I got up or down without bumping my head. No soundproof or whatsoever, we heard everything someone else said in the hallway and were pretty sure they heard us too. There were just one lavatory, one shower, and one toilet for the whole floor - which to its maximum capacity could host almost the same number of people as a dorm room, and that sucked. A wait was expected for everything, even if it’s just brushing your teeth. My sister forgot her cleanser at the lavatory for like a couple of minutes and it was literally gone immediately lol. To be honest, we’d rather book 2 beds at the dorm room next time than this. Another plus point was that there were quite a lot Vietnamese staff (as expected), making it a lot easier for me to explain this whole “my first night is at the dorm but the next two are at the private room so please move my luggage over there because I won’t leave yet just change rooms” stuff…
Super central location, clean accommodation, and excellent value for money. We can't understand why the ratings are so low. We'd gladly stay again!
Great and helpful staff. Decently clean rooms and washrooms
