The Tokyo Station Hotel

The room was on the third floor of the Marunouchi North Exit. Watching the pedestrians rushing to and fro below was quite an interesting experience. The breakfast was plentiful and diverse, offering both Japanese and Western options. The ingredients and seasonings were all of superior quality, making for a very pleasant breakfast experience.

This is a surprisingly hidden gem. The cost-performance ratio is excellent for this location.

Our stay at the Tokyo Station Hotel was exceptional from start to finish and easily deserving of five stars. The level of service throughout the hotel was outstanding, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making every aspect of our stay memorable. The breakfast was one of the best we've ever experienced, with an incredible selection of both beautifully prepared Japanese specialties and high-quality Western options. We also had a fantastic dinner at Sushi Asanogawa, where the craftsmanship, freshness, and impeccable hospitality made for an unforgettable omakase experience. To end the evenings, we visited Bar Camellia, which offered an elegant atmosphere, expertly crafted cocktails, and first-class service. Combined with the hotel's beautiful historic setting and unbeatable location within Tokyo Station, this was truly one of the finest hotel experiences we've had. We look forward to returning on our next visit to Tokyo.

Due to the weak yen, overseas travel has become difficult, so I was looking for a way to experience a European atmosphere within Japan. I love the Tokyo Station building and had always wanted to stay there, so I decided on this. I signed up for a weekday tour of the building, and a lovely young concierge accompanied me one-on-one, explaining the building's history, art, and anecdotes. The interior, designed by a British designer, had features reminiscent of French Art Deco, giving it the feel of a Parisian hotel. The room had high ceilings, elegant and dignified gray curtains, and a beautiful chandelier. The third-floor rooms faced the Marunouchi exit of Tokyo Station, allowing me to observe the passengers coming and going, creating a strange feeling like watching a documentary scene. The highly-rated Eggs Benedict breakfast was so generous in portion size that I thought I'd have to forgo eggs for the day, but I ended up eating an omelet as well… The only thing that bothered me while sleeping was the intermittent low-frequency sound – perhaps the sound of trains arriving and departing? It stopped after the last train. Some people might not mind it. Otherwise, it was the best hotel I've ever stayed in! It's a lovely hotel!

A calm and understated old-money style. I stayed three nights and slept very well every night. This is a hotel that places great emphasis on privacy and soundproofing; my family and I highly praised the hotel's efforts in managing its operations.

The hotel isn't large, but it's a boutique hotel with a sense of history.

It's the usual Tokyo Station, but the rooms were clean, the hospitality was top-notch, and it was a fantastic hotel where you could see a side of Tokyo Station you don't normally see. Breakfast was 6000 yen, but everything was delicious. I want to save up money and come back again.

I rarely write hotel reviews, but The Tokyo Station Hotel deserves one. My family and I travel internationally throughout the year and frequently stay at luxury hotels. My mother is Japanese, so we visit Japan often and have stayed at many of Tokyo’s finest hotels. I can honestly say this was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had anywhere in the world. We traveled from the United States with our two children and stayed in a Maisonette room before (and after returning to Tokyo) taking the Shinkansen to Morioka. The room was perfect for our family, and the location is unbeatable for anyone traveling by train. What truly sets this hotel apart is its people. Every staff member we encountered spoke excellent English, making communication effortless. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely caring from beginning to end. The attention to detail was remarkable. Pajamas and robes were provided for every member of our family, including our children. The amenities were among the best I’ve experienced, with thoughtful touches like skincare products, hair ties, and virtually every toiletry I could have needed. Room service was excellent and arrived in about 30 minutes after a long day of travel. Also we had our dirty clothes washed while we travelled and had extra luggage stored while we visited Morioka on the shinkansen. This made traveling so much easier since there is limited storage on the train. We had originally planned to stay at the Palace Hotel Tokyo on our return to Tokyo, as it has traditionally been our favorite hotel. After this stay, we changed our reservation and returned to The Tokyo Station Hotel instead. That is probably the strongest recommendation I can give. One moment I’ll never forget was arriving back from Morioka on the Shinkansen with two children and a great deal of luggage. Seeing the staff Melany from Argentina waiting for us on the platform immediately made us feel at ease. She may consider it part of her job, but to us it felt like seeing a friend waiting to help. I also want to recognize Namiko-san for her kindness and warm hospitality throughout our stay, as well as the outstanding concierge team for helping arrange a wonderful birthday dinner reservation. For fellow runners, this hotel is also a fantastic base. My husband and I enjoyed running the beautiful approximately 5 km loop around the Imperial Palace, one of the world’s great urban running routes. Whether you stay here or at the Palace Hotel, I highly recommend starting your morning with this run. Luxury hotels can offer beautiful rooms, but truly exceptional hotels are defined by their people. The Tokyo Station Hotel has both. Our family has found our hotel in Tokyo, and whenever we return to Japan or travel by Shinkansen, this will be our first choice.
