Hotel Mirai

I personally liked the room. However, the check-in process using a machine was complicated. I wish they would handle it if there's a front desk staff member, and it's a shame that the front desk staff were unfriendly.

It is cheap and the rooms are much better than dormitories, but the second floor only has women's restrooms and showers, so men have to keep switching floors. It is located on a main road, so road noise tends to be quite loud.

Compared to other hotels, the environment isn't great, but there's nothing particularly bad about it either. It's a good place to stay if you're traveling alone and want to save money, or if you're looking for a place to stay on short notice. Just be aware that the neighborhood seems a bit sketchy.

★VERY WARNING★ When booking through Agoda, phone number verification is not performed when entering your name into the automatic check-in machine. You must enter your first and last names (in Roman letters) backwards. For example, you'd need to enter YAMADA as your first name and TAKASHI as your last name. This is located in a corner of the so-called "doya" (small-town) neighborhood of Kotobukicho, Yokohama. There are other doya-like hostels like Hayashi Kaikan and Hotel ZEN, but this one is nicer. It also has an elevator, making it convenient for those staying on upper floors. Towels (both large and small) are provided. The Wi-Fi is average. There's an aquarium on the first floor with goldfish-like creatures, and the facilities seem fairly well-equipped for such a budget hostel. There's also a coin-operated shower on the first floor that doesn't seem to be for guests, which is a bit odd. Guests can take showers within the all-inclusive price. I don't think there are any issues with cleanliness. Shampoo and other amenities are provided. However, your feet get soaked. I wish the foot mats could be replaced. The air conditioning in the room is almost too powerful, and there's even a TV. The surrounding area is a bit of a mess, but I think it's a pretty decent hotel. The receptionist was also very attentive. The price is a little higher than other "doya"-style guesthouses.

This hotel is located in a corner of a so-called "doya district." It's been a few years since I last stayed in this area, and the price is about 1,000 yen higher (4,500 yen). It's still less than half the price of a business hotel on the same day. It's a great deal. The single room is 3 tatami mats in size, but it doesn't feel cramped to sleep in. It has a TV, air conditioning, and a refrigerator. The air conditioning works well. The men's restroom and shower are on the third floor, so if you're staying on a different floor, it can be a hassle to get there. I was on the second floor, so I took the elevator. There are no particular hygiene issues with the restroom or shower. There was free coffee, tea, and miso soup. There was also a large ice maker, so it's fine even in hot weather. I couldn't find a kettle in the room or in the common areas, so cup ramen and the like seem to be a no-no. There is a hair dryer in the common areas. You can also bring your own into your room. One thing to note, The automatic check-in machine does not accept cash payments. There was a receptionist there so I was able to pay with cash, but there is no one at the reception after 7pm so if you plan to pay with cash I recommend checking in earlier. Despite all I've written, I'll definitely use this service again if I have to stay nearby.

I will use it again if I have the opportunity. Very good.

You can drink coffee and water, but not water. You'll have no problems staying here if you're staying just for a night. If I had to say one thing, it would be that it's a bit of a walk from the station.

Other than the fact that the entrance wasn't an automatic lock, it was a nice, clean place.

Life is training. Every day I have to go up and down the stairs to use the restroom. It's cheap, so I can't complain. But this hotel's design has really instilled a survival mentality in me. If your room isn't on the women's floor, you have to go to another floor to use the restroom. I don't want to waste time riding the elevator, so I use the stairs. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and ponder life, asking myself, "Why am I doing this?" as I walk up and down several flights of stairs. Instant miso soup is complimentary. The gentle flavor that's characteristic of instant miso soup is the only reward my body can get after being worn down from training. It's cheap, so it can't be helped, and that's life. It can't be helped.

I decided to stay here on a budget to cut costs. I wonder if it was originally a company dormitory? That's what it feels like. It's kept clean, and the shower rooms are on different floors and separated by gender. Yes, it's fine since I'm only there to sleep. Bath towels and hand towels are provided. There's no conditioner, so ladies should bring your own.

The price is cheap and the location is good. Hotels in Yokohama are expensive. It's perfectly adequate if you just need a place to sleep.
