Blue Diamond Society

Blue Diamond Society is Nepal's best-known LGBTQ+ organisation, founded in 2001 by activist Sunil Babu Pant. It is a working NGO, not a social venue. It runs sexual-health and HIV programmes, legal advocacy and community support, and it led the court cases that won legal recognition of a third gender in Nepal. Its head office is in the Dhumbarahi area of Kathmandu. Visitors who want to connect with or support the community should contact the organisation through its website first rather than turning up. The opening hours on file are unconfirmed. Kathmandu's Pride march, organised with BDS, takes place around the Gai Jatra festival in August or September.
