Urbanz Accomodation Christchurch

Great location near the city center, but the rooms are very small, offering only the beds and a small storage compartment underneath (I stayed in the 4-bed dorm). The kitchen is large, but all the cupboards and other storage are full because the hostel has so many beds. The common room offers games like billiards and similar activities, which is nice.

Spacious kitchen and lounge area, comfortable beds. But it would be perfect if the lower bunk bed at the dorm has 1 or 2 hooks to hang the towel.

Do not recommend. I stayed in the private room, but the door was broken. Went down to the reception, but there was no one to help. I couldn’t lock the door overnight. The room was filled with a weird sour smell, and the bedding was old and musty. Bathrooms were clean tho.

I was very impressed. As an older (69 year old!) traveller I found it comfortable, very well designed, friendly, welcoming (front desk person was really helpful), clean. Highly recommend it and would happily return.

Very nice hostel! Lovely and friendly team! Was a good decision after 44 hours of flight - bedding is great and due to curtains you will have privacy. The place can be very busy especially the kitchen. Very central - know what you want. Some men or boys apparently tend to think they find them selfs in a private sauna club, walking around with nothing than shorts on , free nipples and so on or being extremely flirty in my opinion. I would wish more awareness regarding women and other cultures and that this awareness also gets established by the hostel.

Central location, but room for improvement The location is very good and central; many things are within walking distance. However, the private room was very small. It was manageable for short stays, but overall quite cramped. The toilets are separate and clean, which is a plus. Two of the showers were good, the others rather average. The soap dispensers urgently need to be improved or replaced. The reception was okay, but the staff seemed rather distant. The air conditioning was set very cold and mounted directly overhead, which was very unpleasant at night. Overall, it was okay, with a few things that could be improved.

Affordable price, great location in the city center, average room.

After a long and tiring journey, we wanted to check in at reception 20 minutes before arrival. However, we then had to wait 30 minutes before we were allowed into our room. The bathrooms weren't particularly clean, and there wasn't enough soap, toilet paper, and similar items. For the price, you're better off staying somewhere else.

What a wonderful hostel ! I stayed two times at Urbanz in a private room, for a total of almost two weeks. Everything is really clean, the kitchen is amazingly huge and really well equipped with a lot of fridges and shelves space, stoves, ovens, utensils... Rooms are clean, beds are comfy, and shared spaces are great. The location is pretty central, with a lot of food & pubs really close. Finally the price is more than correct which is always nice. Overall one of the best accommodations I've stayed at, lots of hostels should follow the example set by this place !

A very functional hostel with a really large kitchen, top-notch bathrooms, and everything is clean. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are nice, and the atmosphere is great! For me, it's the best hostel in Christchurch.

Had a great stay here, the best kitchen I’ve ever seen in a hostel. Large social space with comfy sofas and great beds with curtains. Exceptional friendly service from Matt, and thank you to Nikita who kindly helped me with my bags when I checked in.
