Novotel Christchurch Cathedral Square

My king room was comfortable, and nice, but the AC had a funny smell. The service and location are great

Great location by Cathedral Square but the rooms are very dated. Very strange and impractical bathroom layout and coffee facilities.

Great and central but whenever a band or music was playing outside it was audible in the room Helpful and friendly staff We booked valet parking, but wasn’t clear where we were supposed to park so had to park and go in and ask

This stay was amazing, the food and breakfast were delicious. The baby back ribs were the best. Thank you for a wonderful stay. It's great when staff look after you so well. They get service.

I didn't stay there so I can't say for sure, but the reception is small and simple, comparable to a business hotel.

Good, convenient, hotel. A mediocre breakfast offering — very poor coffee from a machine that should be thrown out, items cool that should be hot, offered inlet — overcooked and tasteless.

Great location, decent rooms, great service in the reception and bar. Shower / bath toggle was a bit temperamental. But i was also hungover so....

Great staff and service. Location is unbeatable with all of the CBD attractions well within walking distance. Lots of bars amd restaurants close by. Great views over the city, stadium, Cathedral Square and Hagley Park.

Updated- staff are lovely, but hotel got worse not better ie one lift was being serviced so big ques. Massive waits for room service 60-90 mins, ran out of instant coffee with caffenine, no mini bar or water bottles in room, no one amswering phone reception, conceirge, operator or room service, not enough staff on. Dont recommend for a stay. The steak sandwich was delicous for lunch tho. That was the best part. Previous- Rooms dated felt like an old Covid Isolation Hotel that needed a deep refresh, they felt clean. Just dated and old fashioned. Walk in rate $279 which is expensive for quality Hard for find tea and coffee in room. Hard to get a coffee delivered before 6 am Bathroom dated. Service was good and dinner was delicious.

The Verdict: If you are coming from a Sofitel, you will notice the difference in 'hardware,' but the service and loyalty perks at this Novotel are excellent.
