Stayed here a few times. Favourite place to stay in Wellington. Cute little hotel with old style charm.

Clean and spacious rooms, good and plentiful breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. The only negative: we had initially booked two nights (through an agency), but we had informed them upon arrival that we would only be staying one night due to the ship's departure time change. No problem, but since the booking was made by a third party, they couldn't refund us. We knew this, and that was fine. The next morning, we informed them that the ship would be late, so we would be leaving later than we had communicated the day before (from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM). They replied that no problem, and that the reservation was valid until the following day. When we checked out, however, they informed us that the reservation had been changed in the meantime and the second night cancelled (apologizing for not having checked), so checkout was due by 12 PM. Since it was now 2:30 PM, they would still charge us for the second night. We didn't argue at the time, as it was already late and we had to board. I didn't find it very fair or professional, considering that we'd notified them that morning about the ship's delay and they themselves responded "no problem" because the reservation was valid until the next day. If anything had changed in the meantime, they should have notified us or at least not charged us for the second night at that point (plus, we left at 2:30 instead of 12, so not much later).

Service is a complete failure. I called FOUR TIMES for one client event room allocation and they only got it right on the last call. The staff were rude, impossible to understand, and completely unaccommodating. Do better.
