To sum it up, this is probably my last stay here; I'll have to find another familiar hotel next time.
I first stayed at this hotel in October 2024. It had only been open for a year then, and the facilities were very modern. There was a Nestlé capsule coffee machine available for unlimited use at the reception desk on the first floor, and even milk. The hotel's classic toast was available from 7 am to 9 pm, and you could easily pre-order it at the counter whenever you wanted. Besides the capsule coffee machine on the first floor, there was also a professional silver-white coffee machine in the B1 lounge for customers to use, and countless welcome snacks were available in the mini-fridge. I stayed one night and had a very good experience. Since Gongguan is where I used to study and live, I naturally stay nearby whenever I return to Taipei. With this new hotel that opened in 2023, coupled with its service, atmosphere, and quality of hospitality, the Hanyu Hotel naturally became my perfect base for solo travel.
A year and a half has passed, and it's now May 2025. I won't deny that things are different now. The coffee machine on the first floor is no longer a high-end machine, and the coffee quality is still somewhat noticeable. The welcome snack bar and drinks on B1 only offer a single type of item, leaning towards bulk-bought fried snacks; the professional coffee machine has also been removed. The toast ordering time has been abruptly changed from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, essentially cutting a shift. From a human resources and operating cost perspective, this is understandable—it allows resources to be allocated more effectively… However, I can only say that this drastic change, and the different experience each time, will leave a mark on regular customers. And when that mark reaches a certain point, they will look for other options.
I've stayed here about three or four times since 2024, and this time the overall experience was particularly poor. Yesterday afternoon, a woman and a blue-haired girl served me and confirmed my room information. After I showed my ID, the blue-haired girl, without saying a word, quickly pulled out the check-in confirmation and a pen and slapped them in front of me, without explaining where I needed to sign or anything. The pen was quickly placed on the table, still rolling around... I think I've tried to be as objective as possible. At the time, I felt they weren't very polite, but I can understand it's their job. However, since it's their job, I think the service quality needs improvement.
The room was very 'refined,' but the service quality dropped drastically, and the staff's quality needs to be improved. This is my experience over the past year and a half. I probably won't give your company another chance. Thank you for the good experiences you gave me in the past, but considering my future travels to Taipei, I will choose a hotel that can truly prioritize customer experience in the long run.
