About this place Aalto Kitchen

Aalto Kitchen brings Nordic flavors to Bangkok, a welcoming spot for LGBTQ+ travelers and locals. On Dinso Road, this place does Scandinavian food: meatballs, smorgasbord, and its own pancake recipe. The atmosphere is laid-back, good for friends to gather, relax, and talk over a meal. Bangkok's gay-friendly restaurants are safe, inclusive places to be yourself while eating local and international food. Aalto fits right in, a casual spot away from the city's usual rush. If you want a slow brunch, lunch, or dinner with travel partners or new acquaintances, the vibe here makes you want to stay a while. When you're tired of Thailand's street food and classic dishes, Nordic food is a good change. The restaurant's open door makes it an easy choice for solo diners, couples, or groups. It's the kind of place you can settle into, order a filling plate, and spend all the time you want with good food and company.

We enjoyed our meals at Aalto. The staff is excellent, food is great and the location right on the beach with indoor & outdoor options was outstanding. We will be back soon (tonight 😅)!

The food leaves much to be desired for the exorbitant prices; orange juice from a carton, and the beef was as tough as a rock. The only redeeming feature is the view. That's it. We left with a very bad experience.

What a lucky find – a culinary highlight! 🍀🇹🇭 We dropped by completely spontaneously yesterday and stumbled upon a fantastic Thai BBQ. As far as we could tell, it's not an everyday occurrence – so our timing was perfect for this extraordinary event! Even though it was quite busy, we still managed to get a table and received a super friendly welcome. The food was anything but ordinary: a huge selection of freshly grilled items, from spicy fish cakes to top-notch steak and even a whole fish cooked to perfection. There was also really pleasant live music, which created a great atmosphere without being intrusive. You can tell that hospitality is truly valued here. In short: If you're lucky enough to be here on a BBQ night – definitely go! An absolute hidden gem with heart and top-notch quality.

The best restaurant we've ever been to in Khanom! After coming here once, we booked a table again the next day! Everything was cooked to perfection! We tried tartar, steaks, lamb, pizza, various salads, and pasta! Everything was simply delicious! The service deserves special mention! The staff is very pleasant and professional, they'll help you with everything, tell you everything, bring your food on time, and clear your table! We loved it; we'll definitely be back when we're in Khanom!

One of the best restaurants serving typical European cuisine in Khanom. Beautiful views of the beach, excellent service, and delicious food. I think everyone will find something to enjoy there.

Food very decent, but the service was very slow and poor. I will try to be short. There was soo much wrong with the service: - 15 minutes to just get the menu card, where we needed to ask for it. - 15+ minutes from ordering before water got on table. - 45 minutes from ordering and 2 out of 3 children’s food came nuggets and pasta bolognese, the 3rd was also a nugget, which they served 30 minutes later! - 1 hour from ordering first adult food came - 1,5 hour from ordering the second adult food came - one order newer came in 1 hour and 45 minutes from ordering, so we payed and said we did not want to wait on that anymore, it was french fries…. Throughout the waiters were not informing us, they just said “ye, ye, soon” or “two minutes”. Very disappointing. Children food was very small portions. Where our 6 years old could easily eat 2 portions.
