About this place Hofgarten
The Hofgarten is the large historic park behind the Hofburg palace on Rennweg, at the edge of Innsbruck's Old Town. By day it is a public park with old trees, a pond and a pavilion, used by families and walkers. Its quieter corners have long been a meeting point for gay and bisexual men, mainly after dark in the warmer months.
Activity is seasonal and drops off in winter and bad weather. Be discreet, respect other park users and keep an eye on your surroundings, since public sex is an offence in Austria. The Altstadt is a few minutes' walk away, and HOSI Tirol is the place to ask about the local scene.
