Difficult... The cover charge and amuse-bouche... either one or the other would have been better. Two slices of bread to start is a bit much. I would have definitely opted for bread and miso butter. The beef tartare was bland... a real shame, because with that quality of meat, they could have done something truly amazing, but the Belper cheese somehow ruined it. The fish appetizer was okay, but it completely lacked any acidity to balance the flavor. The main course was the rib-eye for two people. Why they would cover a nice piece of meat with winter salads in May is beyond me. The only side dish was a potato bread, which was oversalted and not particularly appealing to look at. My Tommaso salsa is worlds better, as is the chimichurri... Furthermore, the side dishes were barely enough for two people. In short, the ingredients were great, but none of them delivered convincingly on the plate. ... When I think back to the dishes from six years ago and even further, it was definitely a real highlight back then. They used to have offal, amazing appetizers, and desserts that sounded so delicious you absolutely had to try them. That's why we skipped them this time. In short: Labstelle isn't what it used to be.

Good food, hearty, earthy flavours without feeling too heavy. Perfect portion sizes, ambient lighting and attentive staff.

This was my son's first trip to Vienna with me. I like to research local restaurants beforehand so I can try them out and see if the reviews on Google Maps local guides match my expectations! I asked my son to make a reservation for this restaurant online before we even left the house. We arrived at the restaurant as planned tonight, and it was packed. Since we had a reservation, we didn't have to wait. We ordered the three-course set menu recommended by the staff. The first appetizer was vegan cream with freshly baked bread, which was delicious and we enjoyed it. However, when the second appetizer arrived, my son discovered a 3-3 inch long human hair in the asparagus with fresh fish slices and sliced ​​king oyster mushrooms. This immediately reduced our appetites by half. The beef tart wasn't as good as the beef tarts we had in the other two cities in the Central European Golden Triangle during our trip. Next was the ribeye steak, which wasn't as good as the one I had in Copenhagen. The most outrageous thing was that we ate around 8 pm, but after the main course, the dessert took another half an hour to arrive. So, we didn't finish dinner until almost 11 pm. If you're traveling in Vienna, restaurants are generally slow to serve food, but this restaurant, which claimed to be a 2026 Michelin local guide, was extremely disappointing. When we paid the bill, my son asked the waiter if the dish with hair in it shouldn't be charged, and he only removed the portion of the two glasses of red wine. In New York, this would definitely not be charged. We spent almost 150 euros for two people and were treated poorly. Therefore, I personally wouldn't recommend this restaurant to tourists visiting Vienna. Since you're already traveling all day, you really don't have three hours to waste. It's better to eat something casually, go to bed early, and rest. I'm only giving it three stars because the service and handling of the problematic dishes were terrible!

I chose this restaurant to celebrate my mother’s birthday during her first visit to Vienna, arriving with high expectations fueled by its Michelin Guide nomination. What we experienced was a profound failure in both hygiene and basic hospitality. The evening began to unravel when we discovered a long hair embedded in one of our appetizers. While the dish was eventually replaced, it was done so with a stunning lack of accountability or remorse from the staff. The true insult, however, came with the bill. Management insisted on charging us the full amount, hiding behind the rigid excuse that the contaminated dish was part of a set menu. Comping two glasses of wine at the end felt less like a genuine apology and more like a dismissive afterthought to mask an arrogant, defensive attitude. Combined with a glacially slow kitchen, the entire evening was a disappointment. As someone accustomed to the standards of Michelin-starred dining in New York City, I can say with certainty that this establishment fails to meet the bare minimum of luxury service. A prestigious nomination means nothing when the execution is this amateur.

A really lovely restaurant with a great courtyard where you can eat in the warm weather. The menu was exceptionally well-seasoned. For me, the steak tartare and the Arctic char on pearl barley were the highlights. The staff was also extremely friendly and efficient. The only minor drawback was that the wind had shifted in such a way that we kept getting cigarette smoke from other guests blown our way, which I found quite bothersome, especially with such high-quality food. Next time, I would therefore opt for a table inside.
