Radisson Blu Astrid Hotel, Antwerp

Everything was great, the reception could have been a bit smoother, but we were patient.

We checked beforehand whether my nearly 18-year-old girlfriend would be allowed to stay alone, with parental permission. The person on the line confirmed this. Upon arriving at the hotel, quite late in the evening, a certain Cynthia at the front desk said that this was not possible. I understand, of course, that the regulations might state it is not allowed, but if incorrect information is passed on first, and it is stated that a minor can indeed sleep there, and you then abandon her at midnight, there is simply a problem. First yes, then no; what is your problem, Radisson?! If you make a mistake by saying upfront that it is possible, you take responsibility and simply allow the stay. Abandoning a minor is the worst thing you could ever do. Moreover, Cynthia was very arrogant, uncooperative, and acted like a snob towards my girlfriend. After that, she even started simply ignoring her and speaking to another customer. She also refused to speak to my girlfriend's mother, who we had on the line. She had actually called just a few hours earlier to ask if her underage daughter could stay overnight. (Which was answered positively.) Afterwards, she said she was going to send a refund email, but of course, before you leave a hotel, you want that confirmation in writing. She completely ignored her and simply refused to do it. Then my girlfriend asked if she could charge her phone somewhere, as it was dead and she would have to go all the way back to Brussels at 1 am. Cynthia refused to help her with this. She was harassed by men on her way home. This is really not okay. A formal complaint will be filed.

Apartment was ok, but that's about it, nothing else was working or even able to manage. Bed was not hooked and keep splitting on two. Dishwasher not working, microwave not working, coffee machine not working, both remote controls on the rv was not working, fridge was leaking so nothing was working in the Apartment. When I address the issue they offer to worm up the food and change battery in the remote controls so the TV was working. Also there are no spaces in the car park in the hotel as they were full so parking is a problem as the hotel is on the high street. Don't waste your money to stay in this hotel, not worth it.

Beautiful, centrally located hotel. Spacious rooms. Parking (up to level -4). Friendly staff. Nice restaurant. Bar. And much more! Public transport right at the hotel! Tram, buses, and Metro! Train station across the street! We will definitely be back! Highly recommended!

Convenient, good gym, ok breakfast, but poor area and service make me never feel at home even though I've stayed there more than 10 times.

Hotel in the center of Antwerp, 50 meters from the train station and above a metro station.

I stayed at the hotel while attending a concert at the AFAS DOME, and the location is perfect! Right next to the tram stop and only four stops from the concert venue. Plus, the view from my room was perfect, directly opposite the train station. The room was beautiful and spacious. The only major disappointment was that I had also booked the hotel for the pool, and unfortunately, it was closed without any alternative or an exact reopening time. That's a shame. Otherwise, everything was perfect; the parking was available from 9 pm for 24 hours.

Amazing!

Firstly, I feel I should mention that the staff were friendly and helpful. In particular the concierge on our arrival who was welcoming, made sure we could get in to the entrance lift with our pushchair and looked after our bags. I'm sorry I didn't get his name but he is a credit to the hotel. I know there are negative reviews regarding the staff but I was not met with any of those issues. Secondly, the location. Whilst fairly central and within a stone's throw of the Central Station, the immediate vicinity is not the nicest. Nothing the hotel can do about this, however. Thirdly, the rooms. We had an apartment room as we found it difficult to find a hotel that would accommodate two adults and two young children. The size of the room was brilliant, it was clean and tidy and the best part was the bathroom with a great shower. However, in general it was quite tired and in need of a refresh and update. The main thing was it was clean and the bed was comfortable and others mention it being noisy but we didn't experience that. Lastly, in terms of facilities, the pool was nice, although on of the covers inside the pool was floating on the surface..... towels etc were provided, it was generally clean but the steam room was out of action. All in all, it was a comfortable stay and I would stay there again if I was to visit Antwerp, but it wouldn't stop me from looking at other options first.
