Hotel Gravensteen
Visitors frequently praise the hotel's superb location right by the castle and the friendly, helpful staff who often offer upgrades. However, some guests have complained about rooms not matching online photos, being small or having unpleasant odors, and a decline in standards with stained items and poor views.

Beautiful and clean hotel, good service and excellent location relative to the city center.
No working air conditioning. They forgot to clean my room twice. Very small rooms.
Room number 91 on the 4th floor. Bath, air conditioning (lovely now with 30 degrees), a mini-fridge (handy for the chocolates), and a balcony. Coffee and tea facilities. Breakfast is very complete and not massive. Opposite Gravensteen castle/fortress. Very close to the shops. Restaurant Neptune and Al Castillo are highly recommended! We parked the car in a parking garage, address Ramen 23; I think we'll be shocked by the parking fees tomorrow😅 But, we had very nice days here!
The hotel is very well located in the center of Ghent. The entrance and reception area are beautiful, but the room we were given felt more like a ship's cabin than a hotel room due to its small size. The view of a wall from the windows was a claustrophobic experience.
Just stayed there while visiting from Canada. Very helpful staff, clean rooms and a central location. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a place to stay in Ghent.
