Queer March Ghent
About This Event
Ghent's Queer March is a month-long, community-run programme that takes over the city in March. It's a mix of talks, workshops, exhibitions, shows, fairs, and parties, mostly held in queer-owned bars and spaces. The event started in 2024, and by 2026, it was already in its third year.
It was partly a response to anti-queer and anti-trans sentiment in Flanders. The money it raises gets redistributed to local queer groups. The City of Ghent subsidises it, and in 2026, the Flemish government backed it as one of six organisations supporting Pride events.
The 2026 edition included a street march on Friday, 13 March. About 250 people walked to the city hall, where they handed a Declaration of Queer Liberation to the alderman for equal opportunities. VIERNULVIER - the old Vooruit - Chopin Chopin, and Vol Pension have all hosted events in the past.
The 2026 programme ran from 1 to 31 March. A 2027 edition is in the works, but no dates have been announced yet.
