Leuven Pride

Leuven Pride is new and small on purpose. It's a Pride Walk through the city centre with no floats, run by UniQue Regenbooghuis Vlaams-Brabant and the volunteer group Queer Leuven under the line "Pride is protest". The first one, on 10 October 2024, went from Martelarenplein to Smoldersplein, where a new LGBTI monument was unveiled, and drew more than double the 400 to 500 people the organisers expected. The second, on 27 September 2025, had about 2,000 marchers.

In July 2026 it came out that security services had stopped a suspected plan to attack the 2024 march. The organisers said they were shocked but went ahead with 2026 and made safety its theme.

The third edition ran from 25 to 27 September 2026. Friday had an opening debate on staying safe online and on the street at UniQue. On Saturday 26 September the roughly 5 km Pride Walk left Ladeuzeplein at 4 p.m., followed by the Pride Show, a closing party at Het Depot and KINKDAY at Rumba. Sunday ended with coffee and cake at UniQue. The route was published only a few days ahead because of possible counter-protests. People with reduced mobility could join a shorter section, and the show had sign-language interpretation. We couldn't find a 2026 turnout figure, and the 2027 dates hadn't been announced when we checked.
