About This Event

Sarajevo Pride, officially BH Povorka ponosa (the Bosnia and Herzegovina Pride March), has run every year since 8 September 2019. That first march drew more than 2,000 people, escorted by heavy police protection. It came eleven years after violent attacks broke up the 2008 Queer Sarajevo Festival. The 2020 event became a protest due to COVID.

Since 2022, the march lands on a Saturday in mid- or late June, sharing the week with the Kvirhana festival. The 6th march, held on 14 June 2025 under the slogan "Ljubav je zakon" (Love is the law), attracted about 1,000 people per ANSA. Two participants were attacked afterward. The 7th march, on 20 June 2026 with the theme "Sve nam boje dobro stoje," started at Trg Susan Sontag. The route followed Obala Kulina bana, Maršala Tita, and Koševo before ending at Park Kemal Monteno. No incidents occurred.

The 2027 date wasn't announced at the time of writing. Expect a June Saturday. Check povorkaponosa.ba. Entry is free. Traffic is closed to the route and policed. Wear rainbow items during the march, not on the way home.
