The rooms are a bit dated, but they'll be closing for maintenance in a few days. I hope they install showers and bidets in all rooms. Breakfast had plenty of choices, and the staff were all friendly.

It's a hotel with considerable size and potential, but it definitely deserves a renovation, at least for the bathrooms, which still have a decidedly outdated bathtub with a shower (the bathroom floor floods...). The food is decent (but don't expect much beyond chicken, turkey, or pork...fish is rarely served, and it's not cooked appropriately for the variety in question...but aren't we in Rieika/Rijeka?...by the sea...). The only positive note is the sommelier (his name is Alen...) who applies himself with passion and expertise and gives excellent advice (don't miss the local Malvasia, a dry wine...). There's only room for improvement...
